Don’t worry you don’t need to buy hardware to install servers, before we start installing LAMP (Linux,Apache,MySQL,PHP). what if, I tell you that you can install one Virtualization application from your laptop or desktop that you use to Create,Install, Run other operating systems like Linux and windows for testing environment and for FREE.

Virtual BOX & VMware Player

In our scenario we are using Virtual Box which is opensource free to use.

STAGE 1 – Installing Linux Ubuntu Server OS

Download Ubuntu OS and keep ISO file on your PC and start installing OS on virtual box.

Once boot up go through 13 steps to complete
Use Tab key for selection.
You can set static IP or simply keep DHCP for ease.
Currently skip proxy connection and Select Done
It is default page to download Ubuntu
Now you can select Disk, our case we select Full Disk
Our case we select virtual hard disk
Confirm and Select Done
Select continue to confirm
Give your account information
To access from remote PC via application like Putty
I recommend not install all, just install once you need.
It starts to installing.
If you have internet keep it for few minutes to complete update
Reboot, You are awesome, You Installed your server.
